Our Founder
Subhadra (Subha) Vadlamannati is the youngest on Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Seattle –“Seattle’s biggest and brightest young entrepreneurs”. She volunteered at several local refugee organizations offering STEM after-school programs. She observed that only a fraction of the kids could take advantage of the programs she offered because of a lack of English skills. She wanted to provide these kids, mainly refugees and immigrants who spoke low resource languages, with culturally relevant multilingual content they could use to accelerate their English learning. Subha therefore founded the Linguistics Justice League to preserve and develop educational and technological support for low-resource languages. LJL won several awards, the latest being the T-Mobile’s Change Maker Award
Subha cares deeply for marginalized communities that are disadvantaged due to their linguistic and cultural underpinnings. In addition to her nonprofit she serves as a board member on three non-profit organizations that help underserved youth across the pacific northwest and the US.
Subha presented her work at several national and international conferences, including a TEDx talk calling for action to preserve low resource languages. Her research papers have been accepted for publication in several international peer reviewed Journals and recently Subha started serving on the Youth Advisory Board for Congressman Adam Smith.
