Pronouncing English: A Spanish Speaker's Guide
Fun activity to do with the kids, while also introducing them to English sounds by relating them to Spanish sounds. Sounds are broken into 4 sections familiar and unfamiliar consonants and vowels.
Vowels
The majority of the vowel section has yet to be completed, and a review by a speaker of Spanish still has not been done.
Familiar Sounds
For familiar sounds, an example sentence is given in both Spanish and English (each with multiple occurrences of the target sound) in order to compare their uses. Although sounds are in voice/voiceless pairs, this is just for simplicity and is not necessary to explain.
Unfamiliar Sounds
For unfamiliar sounds, again sounds are paired in specific but ultimately irrelevant ways. However, unfamiliar sounds are given a couple more examples than familiar (in order to try to compensate for lack of exposure) and a brief explanation how to produce them.
