SWASTHA- Localization

SWASTHA Localization of Wikipedia health content in India*

With the International Yoga Day coming up we wanted to put the spotlight on health and India. Swastha is the Sanskrit word for health. swa= my own self and stha = to be situated. SWASTHA stands for (Special Wikipedia Awareness Scheme for The Healthcare Affiliates). SWASTHA is a special project to promote healthcare awareness amongst local communities with the help of existing healthcare affiliates. The goal is to present health information in Wikipedia on 10 topics in 10 languages of India.

Translation of over 100K articles into these many languages is a herculean task and has a huge benefit to people across the country.
